Have you been dealing with hair breakage and frizzy ends?
We have some tips & tricks to help give your hair some much needed love!
1.Invest in a silk pillowcase or a silk bonnet. This will help to reduce friction and tension on your hair, while you sleep.
When you move about against the fabric of your pillow case this could be causing snapping and tangles. Silk pillow cases are smooth and glide against your hair, helping to reduce breakage. A silk bonnet might seem like a small change, but it's a powerful step in your haircare routine. Whether you're focused on growth, health, or simply waking up with less frizz; it’s definitely worth adding this habit and they are very affordable too!
2. Avoid tight hairstyles too often
These can cause pulling and can lead to hair thinning, causing stress on the hair; Leading to scalp pain and tenderness. Tension headaches can also occur if you’re having your hair too tight!Looser styles like buns and low ponytails help ease tension and prevent snapping, giving your hair and scalp a well needed break.
3.Regular trims are key!
We recommend every 6 to 8 weeks to help prevent spilt ends as these will travel up your hair shaft causing even more breakage, if you aren’t keeping up with regular trims.
4.Leave in hair masks and conditioners
These can be really beneficial and replace any missing moisture and keep your hair hydrated. We love the Colour Wow products and Olaplex – our favs being Dream Cocktail leave in mask, Colour Wow Money Mist leave in conditioner, Olaplex Bond Intense Moisture Mask and Olaplex No 5 Leave in Conditioner.
5.Oils are your best friend!
Use them on the ends of your hair, to help smooth any frizzy hairs. You can add oil to both wet and dry hair, just be weary if you’re adding to wet hair before using heat tools. We love the Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil and Moroccan Oil!
Be sure to give these tips a try and let us know at your next appointment how you’re getting on and your fav tricks!
